House of Jit is a collective group of artists specializing in Detroit's footwork style known as Jit. The company was created in 2019 and founded by three dancers who share a common passion for Jit, Michael Manson, Lilanie Karunanayake, and James Broxton. Michael Manson and James Broxton showcased Jit to the sports world as NBA dancers where they danced alongside artists such as Flo’Rida, Bell Biv Devoe, Bobby Brown, Mc Hammer, and others. Manson was featured on a television show called “So You Think You Can Dance” performing the Detroit Jit. Recently, Lilanie Karunanayake (Lily) has become a member of the team and she has been jitting for over three years now. The three artists want to make a difference in the dance community, as well as continue to spread the Detroit Jit culture.

After attending the Detroit School for the Fine and Performing Arts, he attended Henry Ford Community College and Oakland University, where he majored in Graphic Design and minored in Studio Art. Oil paints, acrylics, and charcoal are his media of choice. He has become known for and perfected an oil enamel technique resulting in graphic, high contrast portraits without the use of a brush. One of the artist’s latest paintings, Critical Race Theory, created in response to recent controversy over the same subject matter, has garnered responses and sparked conversation across social media platforms around the world.
